Not to beat a dead horse, but ratings?

I haven't been around much lately, and the ratings thing is pretty new. Do we get any thing for it? Does it help us with our "status" at all? Do negative ratings hurt anything?

Re: Not to beat a dead horse, but ratings?

  • The only thing that will change your status is the amount of posts you have....the star ratings and the amount of views vs. number of posts determine how many points you have which determine nesticles....I think?
  • I don't think they really matter...maybe in points?
  • I really don't know the real explantation of it, but I think that the ratings ultimately help you get Nesticles.  Not a huge deal.  :)
  • Thanks for the clarification! I'll be sure to keep giving out stars then. :)
  • My take: if posts are being rated for petty reasons as described in Steph's post rather than on the post's actual merit, then they're pretty worthless IMO. I will therefore ignore them. I mean, this new format says I'm a "newbie" when I've been here for five years and I don't give it a second thouight, so as far as I'm concerned the ratings mean nothing.
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
