Rec an inexpensive wine for shower prize
Hi all!
I need to buy 4-5 bottles of wine for prizes for a co-ed baby shower.
Before anyone says that they don't suggest games at a co-ed shower, don't worry, we're not really doing games... it's more like raffles. For example, folks will fill out advice cards for the parents (at their leisure through out the shower) and we'll pull one out of a hat and the winner gets a prize.
Is it possible to find a decent wine for about $5-$6 per bottle?
TIA!
Re: Rec an inexpensive wine for shower prize
I second the TJ suggestion. I love one there called Vino Verde... it a sweeter white (<$5). I also like the purple moon reds ($5). TJ's also has fun chocolates and such if you didn't want to get all wine.
We did a couples shower and for prizes we gave away restaurant.com gift certificates. You can find 70-80% off deals that make them like $3/gift certificate and it offers $25 off a bill at a restaurant. There is usually a stipulation like you have to order 2 entree's or spend $35... but still, a $10 nice dinner is pretty great! Go to the website and search your zip code to see what restaurants are available.
It's a co-ed shower. None of the guys I know would like a scented candle.
Thanks to everyone for the suggestions!
I'm in FL, so no Trader Joe's. Gonna check out the others though.
The thing that worries me about restaurant.com are the stipulations. I bought one myself for $4 that I never got to use b/c I could only go on Tues and Wed.
Barefoot Pinot Grigio is always my "go to" cheap wine. Its about $7 per bottle, but is always yummy and is sold almost everywhere!
