Where is everyone?

I know, I know it's the holiday's so everyone is busy- but really Smile

Actually this week has kind of stunk... I will be having knee surgery on the 14th of January (not scope =( ) that will take me out of commission for about 4-8 weeks, and then once that heals they will have to do the other knee.... which means TTC efforts are on hold for 2010...which stinks Sad

DH graduates Thursday- so that's exciting.  And we're going to Disney this weekend to celebrate!!

 What's everyone else up too?

Re: Where is everyone?

  • I'm here, just been busy at work. That sucks about your knee and about TTC. DH and I are TTC now. I just went off BC and I'm not even sure if my cycles have regulated yet...but it's hard not to get my hopes up anyway.

I'm excited to Friday. We are doing a White Elephant party at a friend's house. Anyone got fantastic ideas? The criteria is funny, useable, and between $15-20.

Other than that just Christmas shopping and getting ready to visit our parents next week. Wisconsin then Illinois, here we come!

  • I am recovering from work. I am supposed to be traveling 2-3 days a week, but I've been doing 4-5 days a week for the last month or so. So now I'm finally home, and just catching up on work and sleep. I still have not gone Christmas shopping....just haven't had time.

Honestly, it's been weird this year. I keep thinking to myself that next year, I'll have a 7 month old baby at Christmas. We'll be waking up on Christmas morning as a family of three instead of a family of two. It's surreal but exciting.

  • Jen, that sucks about the knee surgery. I hope you have a speedy, complication free recovery! And congrats to your DH.
  • Thanks- I just keep telling myself it will be so much easier to recover from this surgery without kids, then with kids.  Really if we waited and I had the surgery after- it would be horrific not being able to hold/carry my child for 4-8 weeks.

  • I've been lurking but just have not posted much.  I have had a cold since Friday and have been super busy at work so I haven't been able to kick it.

Sorry to hear about your knee surgery Jennifer.  DH had orthoscopic surgery on his knee a year ago to try and find out why it was filling up with fluid and constantly swollen.  A year and 8k later we still dont know, but it did go away.

Im sure everything will turn OK with your surgery though.  At least they know what is wrong..lol

That stinks that they can't do it arthroscopically but I agree that it's much easier to do it now when you can take the time to recover.

As for where we've been, we went out of town for the weekend and have been trying to catch up and finalize everything for Christmas.

  • Not much over here. Still looking for a job. SO has a camping trip this weekend for work. And still trying to get everyone's presents for Christmas. Congrats to your DH for graduating. SO graduates in May.  Sorry about your knee and that TTC is on hold.

  • I haven't been around much lately, we went out of town last weekend, and I've had a cold with a terrible cough for about a week now.

JenniferBultman - sorry about your knee, that is crappy!  I hope you have a speedy recovery!  But at least you get to go to Disney beforehand!  I'm jealous - I loooovveee Disney!

  • Im around.. Sort of anyways.  I've been doing Christmas stuff, and getting Chad ready to fly back east (he's leaving tomorrow for 2 weeks). It is his first flight alone so that has me a bit nervous..

Other then that, just trying to find a job! I really want to get back into the working field again but there isnt a lot around (as a lot of you know). So it's been hard and frusterating. I did not have this big of a problem when I was in MA. *sigh* I hope I can find SOMETHING soon!
