local mechanic? keyless entry?
has anyone had keyless entry installed on a car by a local mechanic? I have an 03 Civic and Honda says they don't carry the system that I would need for my model of car anymore!
We've called a few local mechanics and they all say they can do it for around $200. I just feel like I'd SO much prefer an actual honda system but I guess it's not possible, so the next best thing is to at least feel comfortable with the quality of what we're getting from the company that we do use. Anyone had any experience with any place that can do this type of thing??

Re: local mechanic? keyless entry?
This probably wasn't the way to go (especially since my DH is a mechanic), but I hijacked his car and had the people at Best Buy install it as a gift.
I bought it there, and they installed it for me. It was about 6 years ago, so I don't remember exactly the price. But it still works really well.
HTH!
One of my good friends husband was just laid off (economy) and he would do it I am sure for a little extra cash...
He is a master mechanic and has been for forever for Volvo. His specialty is wiring and electronics etc...
Let me know if you would be interested in contacting him and I will call his wife and let her know!
