New Year's Eve party ideas please
We have a New Year's Eve party every year at our house & I'm afraid of it getting stale. Every year I try to do something different to keep everyone interested & having fun until the ball drops at midnight but this year I'm at a loss. Last year I took a bunch of funny fortunes & made them into little scrolls. Everyone opened their's & had a good laugh. We have darts & air-hocky. I'm just looking for some different ideas to freshen it up so it's not boring. Thanks!!

Re: New Year's Eve party ideas please
A dish for every month of the past year, along with a story to go with it?
January - something newyearsy, so maybe something marinated in champagne, or a champagne beverage, with the story, "This time last year we rang in the new year with champagne and remember that funny story about Dave?"
For February you could go with Valentine's day, and serve strawberries and chocolate fondue (or whatever) with a cool story to go along with Valentine's day (even if it's not yours)
For March you could do an Irish type thing (For St. Patrick's day)... shepherds pie or something with whiskey/baileys
H and I are hosting a party this year. We're having a masquerade party, desserts and drinks only. I've asked guests to dress 'casual cocktail' - meaning cute dresses for girls, or jeans with a nice top; for the guys - blazers and jeans, jeans with a shirt and tie, etc. I figured this was a happy-medium for this normally very casually-dressed crowd.
We're supplying the masquerade masks, beads, noise makers, and sparklers. As for the desserts, I'm making comfort food desserts: monkey bread, muddy buddies, cupcakes, rice krispie treats, etc.
