2010 Resolutions

Is anyone planning to make some changes in 2010? What are yours??

Re: 2010 Resolutions

  • I usually don't do resolutions per se. But I do want to make some improvements in 2010.?

This will be the year that I save money and watch what I spend!! Finally!!!

Also, we have GOT to stop cussing. My daughter is repeating way too much.?

  • M and I were talking about trying to do one together. We're thinking about saving X amount every month...savings hasn't been building like it should be.   I also want to travel more!
  • I'm not usually much on resolutions, but I think they are in order for 2010.  Most important: get back on the fitness wagon! My clothes are getting uncomforably tight again.  Also on the agenda, start saving for a house and traveling quite a bit (which will  make the saving difficult, but we wanna travel some so we can get it out of our system before TTC).
We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

  • i want to become more active. i kinda lost my motivation to stay in shape after the wedding. its not so much that i specifically want to lose weight (I'd consider it an awesome bonus), i just want to rekindle my interest in healthier activities.want to get more focused at work. I feel like ive had a slacker year bc of the wedding and now house hunting. I want to take on more responsibility and gain more confidence in my work, but i feel like there isn't much room for advancement at my current job, so i'm thinking the next step is to move on.Also saving money like others said. We started saving hardcore this week, really skimping on our grocery bill, and avoiding going out for eats/drinks. So I'm hoping we can keep this going next year so that we can handle buying a house if the right one comes along!!

  • Just working on my 101 in 1001 list. Most of the things on there are things I would consider "resolutions" anyway. (It's posted in my blog - link in sig - if you're interested).

  • Losing the post-wedding weight.

Actively saving money for a house down payment.

    Being a better friend.

  • I have a few resolutions/goals for 2010...

    - get healthier... lose the weight I've gained since the wedding and start exercising regularly.  I just found out a couple of weeks ago that my cholesterol is slightly higher than it should be and although the doc says its nothing to worry about, it worries me.  I want to get this figured out before TTC.

    - figure out a way to not be so stressed... this is part 2 of why I need to start exercising on a regular basis

    - re-focus on savings - we were doing really well saving money before the wedding but have kind of eased up on our budget since.  We need to get things back under control and go back to putting away at least $500 a month so we are prepared for moving/buying a new house this summer.

    - find a new job.  I dont know how much longer I can take mine, I'm miserable and need to do something about it.  I keep putting off looking because I know we'll likely be moving this summer but I need to find a way to deal with the stress and get some satisfaction out of work.

    - get my catering business up and running... again with the move, I'm using it as an excuse to not make a huge effort here.  I'm scared to fail and the restrictions in KY make it difficult to start anything.  Any time I'm about to start something, my job gets in the way and I end up working 80 hours a week.  I need to put together an actual business plan and set some goals.

  • We need to set some priorities for our spending.  I don't have a job right now, so saving really isn't the issue, it's just that we want to buy so many things, we need to come up with a plan.

We are still paying off some expensive dental work that DH had, but he wants a new TV.  I'd be willing to wait until we're out of tooth debt.  I would like a new couch as the old one is falling apart (literally, I am picking up stuffing), but we have a friend who is likely getting married in Australia in October and I have to go, end of story.  So, priorities.

Maybe you should look into the Rooms To Go special where you get a free flat screen with the purchase of a living room, or something like that.

  • I normally don't do resolution because I know I never stick to them. But, I am really going to put in some extra effort this coming year.

    - I want to start saving more. I upped my 401K input. I figure if I don't have it to spend to start with, then I won't miss it.

    - I NEED to lose weight. I am starting to feel fat and sloppy. It has been horrible on my self esteem. I am going to join the local gym since I have to drive right past it on my way to and from work. Plus, J and I want to try to have a baby in 2011 or 2012, and I need to be healthier for that.

    - Become more organized. I do a great job of hiding clutter. But, it is just a mess behind a closet door instead of a mess out in the open.

  • I don't normally make NY resolutions, but some things I do want to work on are:

Increase our savings accounts; One for a house down payment and one for vacations.

Start exercising on a regular basis and eating healthier, because we both need to lose weight and get healthier.

Do well in school this semester because I have been slacking and just getting by.

  • Eat healthier/drink less soda - DH is a really picky eater so it's become super easy to just make the quick unhealthy things he likes. I want to try to find healthier options we'll both enjoy. And I love soda even though I know it's horrible for me.  I try to limit myself to 1 a day now but I'd like to get down to 1 a week.

Exercise more - I've become lazy lately and there's no real reason for it

Save more money - I have a good amount of savings for this point in my life but I feel like I sometimes spend money on unnecessary things so if i stopped that I'd have even more money saved for later in life

Interesting.  Is this a store?  A website?  I have never heard of it.
