I almost f*ed up big time
I started applying online for a job through a local staffing agency that sounded like a lot of fun/different than what I am doing now but still in line with my degree and experience (sort of, it would be a learning curve too).
Then I got an email from one of the girls I work with telling me that our development director (job I was applying for) quit.
And I went back and looked. And realized that I was applying for a job at MY COMPANY. Woops, good thing I never submitted anything.
And no, it wouldn't work to apply internally for it, they'd never let me switch b/c its less hours + more pay + its harder to fill my job than that job.

Re: I almost f*ed up big time
Just thought. GL job hunting.
I work for people who would take it as a slam on themselves if I applied for a new job.
And eh, I'm only half azzed job hunting. I would loooove to find the ideal job though. But I'm not going to cry too much if I have to go back to mine either, its not a bad job by any means.
I used to work for a staffing agency and this happened more than you would think. I was always nice though and called the person to let them know that the position was with their current company, were they able to apply internally or did they want me to submit their application on their behalf? They were always VERY appreciative. I just wonder how many people do this on "blind" job listings that just have you fax or email your resume and don't list a company name.
