Re: fav holiday tradition
Having a couple of friends over on 12/23 to watch Love Actually and drink rum cider.
The princess' dad usually comes to pick her up on mid Christmas Day so Christmas Eve is just for the two of us. We bake cookies, sing carols, watch either How the Grinch Stole Christmas or Home Alone then we open our Christmas pjs then read a story, usually Fancy Nancy because that's her favorite. Then we leave out cookies, milk, and carrots for Santa and she goes to bed.
Once she's asleep I pour myself a martini (or three) and watch Love Actually.
Cheese fondue and martinis sound excellent.
And I STILL haven't watched Love Actually.
Please make a video of this and post it.
Thank you.
yes!
Old: Having cold cuts and simple food for Christmas Eve before opening all of our presents. "Santa" would then bring something the next morning.
New: Gathering for a huge breakfast spread at the ILs house on Christmas morning in our pajamas. It's just the 6 of us and while it's still loud and chaotic, it's much more intimate than the HUGE dinner later that night.
Not a video, but pics. share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8IaOGTJmybNju
Lamb curry sounds so good right now.
My parents used to give me new pjs every christmas eve to wear to bed. Now MH picks up that tradition.
We see a movie Christmas Day.
Tamales.
Church and Christmas dinner with my parents on Christmas eve.
Also..
Hubs and I show up to my IL's at 5AM to wake everyone up and we make coffee, set OJ, egg nog, and hot chocolate for everyone. Hubs makes cinnamon rolls and goodies for everyone.
Everyone wakes up in a great mood that way and we all have a fab Chrsitmas morning.
Should I google? I have no clue what that is.
Yes! Because Festivus is for the rest of us!!!
We do this too! I love that it is quick and easy and very little clean up so we can get to the main event! Ha Christmas Day is for the big fancy dinner for us.
My favorite tradition is lounging around in PJs the entire day after opening presents on Christmas morning. We eat my grandma's cinnamon roll loaf for breakfast and don't even bother cleaning up the masses of wrapping paper until the next day. So relaxing!
I didn't get it either Yahpee, it's ok.
