So, the kids these days have on their phones what's called a "mosquito ringtone." It's basically a noise that is at a particular frequency that can't be heard by people over 30.
I have always said, "I will know I'm old when I can't hear the ringtone anymore," and I always liked when I could catch kids who thought they were being sly.
Well, one kid was just squirming around right now. I asked him what the problem was, and he said, "I hate when people have those high-frequency ringtones! They are awful!"
Yeah, one was going off in my class and I had no idea.
Re: I am officially old
Dude! I'm sad for you.
This. Hubs can hear it though. ::grumble:::
i am embarrassed to "ditto" this.
Have we not discussed this before?
I thought I learned about this on this very board.
this could be. but i'm older than all of you, and the memory's the first to go.
or someshit like that.
Ditto wan. But I don't remember either. And my excuse is that Alzheimers runs in my family.
I think we discussed it as it pertained to some malls using it to prevent teens from loitering... I hadn't heard they started using the sound as a cell phone ringer, though.
