this guy that works here made cupcakes for everyone. They look like a little kid decorated them, they have about 10 different kinds of sprinkles on the frosting, and a cookie on top. When I asked if he made them he said "yes, I made them. Why is everyone asking that? I am capable of using an oven". So cute.
It's too bad I can't bring myself to actually eat it. It smells so good.

Here's a story for you, CW.
At my office, my department used to have a ginger-bread house decorating contest every year. I say used to, because I hosted it and apparently no one took it over this year, so it didn't happen. Anyway, it was totally kindergarten-style, with graham crackers and all sorts of red and green candies. We'd display them in the hallway so that people could vote for the best, and EVERY YEAR some idiot would come by and start eating them.
I can suspend disbelief long enough to assume that whoever brought in cupcakes didn't lick the spatula after icing each one. But you cannot look at those gingerbread houses and not know that someone's grubby fingers were all over them.
We had to resort to putting up signs that said the houses weren't edible, then we got complaints that we were being greedy or something.
Anyway, I miss my contest, to the point that I'm sitting here contemplating building one all by myself.

well, if you're bored this weekend you can come over and make one with me. I'm always down for gingerbread house building.
(my mom won a contest a few years ago for decorating a house. You bet we touched the hell out of that candy making the house, though. That's probably where my fear of baked goods comes from.)
