Cheap stockings/stocking stuffer ideas

Anyone know where I can find a plain ol' stocking?  This is our first Christmas here, and even though we don't have a fireplace, I still want to do stockings.

Checked Ralph's - too small.  Bed Bath Beyond - too blingy.  Where else should I look?

Stocking stuffer ideas are welcome as well!

Re: Cheap stockings/stocking stuffer ideas

  • Have you checked Michaels? As far as stocking stuffers, my usual go-to's are assorted mini chocolates, 1 or 2 $1 lottery tickets, or if you bake, homemade cookies are always nice. Also candy canes to stick with the holiday theme. For my friends, I buy assorted lip glosses from VS, a small lotion and a $5 gift card to In n' Out or their fave fast food place.

  • The lotto tickets are a good idea!  So far, I've only bought a few chocolates and candies.

I'll plan on checking Michael's and CVS after work today....

  • yeah, Michael's and CVS are good bets.  Did you find them?

If you want silly stocking stuffers, maybe things from the 99c store?  they have a lot of random things.  I bought a pair of kitchen scissors there for 99c, and they are awesome - work better than the Henckels scissors that came with our knife set wedding gift - that broke within the first month!

Not that I'm suggesting you put kitchen scissors in your stockings.

  • You can try Target for the stockings.  I think I saw some plain ones when I was there the other day.

  • Thanks for the suggestions - I was able to find stockings at CVS (they were already on sale for 30% off)!

With this, my Christmas shopping is all done!!!  Phew.
