What's for dinner tonight ladies?
I'm out of ideas tonight. Maybe beef tenderloin and veggies? I don't know.
Re: What's for dinner tonight ladies?
We sold DH's house and the closing is tonight. So, we'll probably celebrate with something cheap and yummy, like Tropical Smoothie or Chik-fil-a.
Tomorrow, I'm making BBQ chicken in the crock pot. Then I'll shred it and put it on rolls and serve with beans. I'm a lazy cook! Heh!
How do you do your bbq chicken in the crock pot - I've tried to make it twice and mine came out nasty! lol
what's that?
Actually I just had an idea. My cousin and I made some arepas yesterday. (Colombian corn cakes with cheese). I think I'm going to stuff them with yummy shredded beef or something plus other fillings.
I saw it on Throwdown the other day and have been dying to try it and since I have all those arepas... Well part of the work is already done for me. Now to find a good recipe...
I'm intrigued, please describe!
I love Throwdown! It's one of the few Bobby Flay shows I actually like. Are arepas easy to make? I'm having a hard time envisioning them.
Tonight is FINALLY the big Kobe dinner with my whole family. Yum!
Thanks again for all the ladies that suggested the Altamonte location. Hopefully things will go smoothly at this location compared to my other experiences.
Layne - Can I have your recipe for Beef Stroganoff? My husband has been asking me to make it for 6 years now and I never have because I don't care for it. Maybe with a different recipe I'd like it though. Thanks!
There is a little bar in the JBs plaza at the corner of Kirkman and Conroy called STP (Sloppy Taco Palace). ?It's a little hole in the wall but they have the best tacos EVER!!! ?They lightly fry soft tortillas then put meat in them and then cover them in queso and pico. ?They are very messy and not good for you but they are my sin!!!?
Jackie, here is a link to the yummy one from throwdown. I'm actually going to make a simpler version tonight.
But on another night when I have more time I'll make the one from the show. Its actually Venezuelan version. It has black beans, salty white South American cheese, sweet plantains and shredded yummy beef. Ugh... Sounds so good. I wish I was making that one tonight!

Sure, no problem! I searched Food Network and found a recipe I liked. It's not the most traditional but it sounded good. FYI: my habit is the first time I make something I follow the recipe, and from then on I use the recipe as an outline and add and subtract based on what we liked/disliked about the original recipe and our particular tastes. I don't measure so I can't give you exact changes but for this recipe I usually add more sour cream and mustard than they recommend because we like those flavors and wanted to give them a boost. And I also add dill but it's not part of the recipe. I like the flavor of dill and also decided to add it because it's traditional in stroganoff. Sorry for the ramble, now here is the link:
