If you just had a patio added to your back yard
What would you want on it?
FI wants to buy SIL something for her patio since it's just now finished and she's his person to buy for (ss).
My best idea is a steel fire pit, but then you're assuming they'll use it. I literally don't go outside on our patio, so I'm not sure what's useful/cute/necessary. She has no furniture or anything to go out there, but that'll be something she needs to pick out herself.

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
I just a friendly gal looking for options.
My parents were given a fire bowl a few years ago and they ended up using it more than their fire pit. It's small (maybe a foot square) and needs a can of firegel stuff to burn. It's nice to set on a table when you're not necessarily looking for something that gives off a lot of heat.
fire pit is nice. I was also thinking along the potted plant route, though. Maybe a 4 or 5 foot potted tree?
If it's a deck, I'd be more wary of the fire pit. I'm afraid to put one on our deck - worried about scorch marks on the wood. But if it's a patio, that's not as big of a concern.
