gift ideas for 5yo girl

anyone? Bmom? Candi? What do your kids want this year?

Mostly, we're doign the college fund thing, but we also get her something to open.  My usual standby is books, and I am still cool with that but unsure of a book topic.

  • My 6 yo niece LOVES Littlest Pet Shop stuff.

  • i like paper dolls, which are easy to find in bookstores. i usually want to get something very inexpensive for my sis's friend's daughter when she is over for the holidays, and the mom tells me she enjoys some paper dolls i got her one year for a long while.

they have some great stuff in the sale aisles in bookstores! and not just books, but not dumbed-down gifts either.

  • lol @ smencils. That is awesome.

Perhaps the bargain aisle at the bookstore is a good idea.

    Keep 'em coming!

  • Candi got her kid an Ipod touch. She also super loved the legos I got her. Legos sounds more in your price range (I'm assuming it's less than $50 for someone else's kid). What about that?

  • You can never go wrong with Legos.  For anyone.  At any age.

  • Is she a girl-girl or what? Bacon wants Transformers; I'm pretty sure that's no help to you.

As to books: Any of the Skippyjon Jones books would be excellent; The "Give a ------------ a -----------" series (Give a Mouse a Cookie, Give a Pig a Party); Click Clack Moo; maybe a really good version of a fairy tale if she's into the whole princess thing.

Art supplies are good, too - a pack of crayons and a pack of markers and you really can't go wrong.
