Does anyone use Skype to "see" and talk to your families? Both of our families are out of state and I think that we are going to try to set this up so that we can chat with them and they can see DS. Is it easy? Also, do you have any recommendations for a webcam...brand/model that works well. Thanks!

Re: XP: webcam/Skype
I can't help you out with Skype because I've never used it. I've always used the video chat function that's in my IM clients.
As for the webcam, what are you looking for - just a plain camera to use for that? What's your price range? Personally, I picked up a ~15$ USB webcam and it works just fine. It's a logitech.

We use Skype all of the time since we moved overseas. We have video calls with the family all the time. Video quality is great as long as both users have decent equipment.
We have a webcam built into both of our laptops, but the webcams that our parents have work pretty well.
The only time we've experienced video issues or delays is when we talk to my mom, and she has a really old crap computer that can't keep up with the video processing.
Thanks, ladies! Sounds like I can get a reasonably priced webcam and still get decent quality. Both sets of grandparents have good/fast internet connections, so that should be ok.
I appreciate your input.
