Re: The Ultimate Question

  • Haha! I couldn't wait to open this post...

Of course, I chose NSync, due to my three dates with Chris aka the funny one. LOL. But they seriously rocked back in the day. Backstreet hung with them for a while, but NSYNC is definitely the winner in this category.

If anyone chooses 98 degrees, it may be grounds for un-friending. They were wanna-bes!!!?

  • I refuse to pick one. I loved the top four. And had a favorite in every one.

    Brian.

    Ashley.

    Drew.

    JC.

     I was a boyband hoar.

I'm friends with everybody in this office. We're all best friends - I love everybody here. But sometimes your best friends start coming into work late, and start having dentist appointments that aren't dentist appointments. And that's when it is nice to let them know that you can beat them up.
  • I honestly did not listen and couldn't stand any of the above. I do/did, however, like JT's solo career.
We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

  • First, it is 98 degrees.  Not 90 degrees, Mames.  Sheesh...get your boy bands right.

Second, I can't really choose because I never bought or listened to any of their music.  I would occasionally hear songs on the radio, but I would never buy their CDs...and I didn't "love" any of the songs.

This is blasphemous. I'm listening to their Christmas album as we speak. "This Gift" is a magical experience.

  • I chose Nsync. Only because of my great love for JT, then and now!

  • I loved N Sync. I still know all the words to all their songs and I would love it if they did a reunion. DH thinks I'm crazy but whatever it's hard to get over 13-year-old girl boyband crushes.
  • NSYNC 4LYFE.

angel - hold up. You dated Chris? SPILL. NOW.

hops - oopsies! The poll text is so small my geriatric eyes couldn't even tell I mistyped!

While I am one of the current 100% who selected N*Sync, I must admit I also have the 98 Degrees "This Christmas" album, which will be put in my car the second I am done with finals (I can't have Christmas-y merriment until this paper is turned in!)

  • That's it. I'm totally downloading the Christmas album tonight. Wait, doesn't NSYNC have one too?

FTR, I saw 98 Degrees in concert as well as NSYNC during their Pop Odyssey tour. And JT in 2007.

  • FLAME me - but I wasn't in to any of the boy bands. At all. That being said, I like Justin Timberlake as a solo artist, but feel he's a douche in real life.

I saw 98 Degrees in concert, too! With Baja Men and someone else I can't remember.

I'll let this slide only because you're like 7 years younger than me so you were allowed to be blinded by love for Drew.?

Nsync absolutely does, and much to the chagrin of my male coworker, we play Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays at least twice a day in my office.

OMG. Must have been around the same time/tour! Our opening acts were Baja Men, Debela Morgan and Dream!

This is why I totally would have picked NKOTB had they been on the list.

  • Mames-remember I told you guys I had been to Joey and Chris' houses? Chris is super nice. We met one night at Tabu in Orlando (ironically owned by AJ from Backstreet!) I was the only girl not falling all over myself to get to him plus I worked for a radio station there so we automatically had people we knew in common. He is super, super nice and funny. No other details to spill--nothing major happened! We just hung out a few times downtown and once at Joey's house.

This poll was inspired by the fact I've been listening to the AOL/XM 90s Pop channel the past few days,  Just a few minutes ago "Step by Step" came on, and the 8 year old girl in me just melted.

  • PS--I saw JT in 2007 too! In Ft. Lauderdale right after G was born. I had to pump for a week so D would have enough breastmilk so I could go with my friends--lol!!! Pink opened for him (was amazing) and Timberland freaking rocked all the interludes. Great show!

angel, the nsync stuff is vaguely familiar. I'm going senile, I just know it. THAT IS SO AWESOME!! 20-year-old me would have just been beserk.

Pink and Tim and JT were amazing though we had suckass seats.

  • I chose Nsync... strictly due to my then-crush on JT.  I really didnt like any of them for their music.  My love goes back to the original boy band... NKOTB!!

This reminds me of the first time I took DH home to meet the parents in 07.  We took a train to a nearby town and when we got into my parents' car, "Hangin' Tough" was on the radio.  I had DH convinced (and scared) that this was the biggest hit back home and what everyone was listening to.

    I am totally with you!
  • Thanks to this post I'm sitting here, in my pj's, jamming out to NSYNC and BSB videos on Youtube. I pray my husband doesn't walk in on this because it's just embarrassing and yet, I love it.

  • As big an NSYNC as I am, my freshman roommate in college was a big BSB fan. So I love BSB too .... (have you heard their new single? it's good!) just not as much.  "Pop" and "Celebrity" were like the best albums eva.

  • I voted NSYNC too. Who the heck is BBMack though?? Never heard of them.
  • NSYNC was the best! I remember my sisters and I (all in High School at the time) would tape the video countdowns (back when MTV played videos), We were totally obsessed with the Drive Myself Crazy and Bye Bye Bye videos.

Though I definitely also had love for 98 degrees and BSB, I never cared for O-Town, BBMak, C-note or any of the other "wannabes".

And as all girls have their fav guy, mine were: NSYNC: Lance (i know, i know), 98 Degrees: Drew, BSB: Brian

I saw BSB on their reunion tour, and 98 Degrees 2x in their glory days - and once we were in the front row and caught their sweat towels (we were excited about it at the time, but now it just sounds gross)

     this.exactly.

  • I voted for NSync, but seriously I must say that within the past few years I've broken out the first BSB CD and it's pretty amazing. I loved BBMak and 98 Degrees too, but NSync was definitely my favorite. I also had my favorite in each group - Lance (poor 13 year old naive me), Brian, Drew, and about 2/3 of BBMak was hot but I don't remember their names.

PS: Stjoes, I'm so jealous you can listen to that at work!!!!! Aaand I'm a Jew. I love Christmas music though, especially anything off the Mariah Carey CD.
