Does anyone here use or have past experience using a cleaning service? I have always thought it was such a luxury and something I could not afford, but maybe it is somewhat affordable? How often does someone clean your house and what is the cost, if you don't mind sharing. Also, how do you make sure none of your valuables are stolen? Any recommendations? We are in Broward county. Thanks!

Re: Cleaning Services
My family has never used a service, just someone that was recommended by another friend, family member, work friend, etc. Since they are a recommendation from someone they know, the person is trusted.
My whole family uses the same person, she is amazing and cleans so thoroughly. She goes to our houses in Plantation and Pembroke Pines, so if you are in the area, let me know and I'll ask her if she has days available.
As far as pricing, it depends on the size of your house and what you need. I know my mom uses her weekly to clean the entire house (both bathrooms, dusting, floors, kitchen, porches, organizing, etc.) and she has about a 2,500 sq foot house and I believe it's $75. Every week my mom writes her a note of things she wants her to focus on, sometimes larger things (the fridge needs to be cleaned out, the windows outside need to be cleaned, etc.)
If your house is larger, she would charge more. If you want less services, like say just the bathrooms and floors, she would charge less. Also, you can use her as much as you want. My aunt only has her cleaning lady come every two weeks, and I know someone else who only uses their once a month for deep cleaning.
I'm pretty sure that's how it works for most of the cleaning ladies. I don't have a cleaning lady, my place is too small to require one, but if I had a larger home, this would definitely be put into my budget, even if it was only monthly!!

<a href="http://s279.photobucket.com/albums/kk121/behapybride/?action=viewGenerally, a cleaning service will be A LOT more expensive than just a cleaning lady. The service will charge something like $80/hr, and will have a minumum hrs... so for 4 hrs it will cost $320! For just one visit! CRAZY
I have a cleaning fairy. She's actually at my house right now! She charges $70/visit. I have her coming every 3 wks, but am changing to every 2 wks come Jan. We have a 3/2.5, fairly large kitchen. She only washes the sheets and towels, no other laundry (which is what I want). Plus, if we have special projects for her (ie, windows outiside) we give her extra $.
