to DH last night while finalizing Christmas plans
".. so when are you going to allow risa_4-11-09 to start having kids"
allow.. nice.
What is your most recent favorite MIL quote?
Re: fav MIL quote
haha. Risa, didn't you know?? Women are not allowed to have kids unless their husbands say so! Kidding obviously.
I actually heard my fav MIL quote today. Said to DH:
"I have loved you longer"
which was in comparison to me loving DH.. Childish much??

While we were in Oregon last weekend "visiting" MIL and SIL we where all sitting around basically staring at each other. Dh wanted to talk and MIL and SIL both had their nose in a magazine and Dh said "well it looks like moms is about done and SIL is too" then his mom looked him straight in the eye and said "WHAT is it that you want?"
I wanted to yell at her "he wants you to put the DANG book down and VISIT with us" argh we did not travel with a 8 month old to stare at each other.
its nice to know that Im not the only one
Best part of it all was earlier in the day I was telling a co-worker how much I enjoyed my in-laws and not just because they live 4 hours away. Hopefully this is a one time occurance, and wont be brought up at Christmas. DH and I should take bets
When we invited ILs to Austin for NYE, his mom: "I'm tired of driving to Austin. It's too far. Girls, (her daughters) let's go to Vegas for NYE"
It must be noted, Vegas is about 200 miles further from them than Austin is.
My Bio (wedding pics added 7/6)
My 101
My MIL had a HUGE problem with DH's dad walking me down the isle. I don't speak to my dad and there was nobody else I wanted.
She said " I can walk you down the isle so no attention will be on SMIL or my brother can do it since he is tall"
Her brother wasn't coming to the wedding and she thought that as I walk down the isle attention would be on my SMIL.
Well since we're talking about weddings ... it was what she didn't say for once that I will never forget. My MIL got ordained online to marry couples (specifically so she could do BIL and SIL's wedding).
Well when DH and I were getting married, she wanted to do the wedding. Well ... if you knew her, you'd understand that's a big HELL NO. Well my dad was a judge so we told her it's hurt his feelings if she did the ceremony and not him (when really he didn't want to, he was the fathre of the bride, and that was enough for him).
She didn't much like that answer! She yelled at us for months, threatened to not come to the wedding, and generally acted like a brat. She told anyone and everyone she saw about how terrible her son was treating her
Well wedding day came around and she met the preacher who married us and asked how we decided on him. Hahaha
I said, "I found him on the internet. And his name is John Conner - like the terminator. How rad is that?!"
I think that was the only time in her life she was speechless. It was soo terribly hard not to laugh.
And before you feel bad for her ... don't worry, she got her revenge. She threw away my table runners and spent the whole night telling everyone (including my family members) what a snob I was and that I threw that wedding just to rub my "money" in her face.
SIGH ....
(ETA: Whoah, how did that get so long? Tell I needed to rant?)
