Any developments today on the house thing?

Hey Karen,

Well there was a house we were looking at last month (foreclosure) and it was just out of our reach but we LOVED this house.  Well yesterday they dropped the price and now we can afford it.  So we put in an offer last night.  If all goes according to plan on this house, we would close on Jan 10th giving us enough time to move and everything YEAH.

The other house.  I got this text from the owner last night:

House owner:

Hi, did you get my response the other day?

ME: I did not.  We are still waiting on a response from the bank.

House owner: As I said before, we are leaving the house at risk for major damage.  if you move in, you stay rent free for 6 months.  Win win for you.

But if something happens to the house over this time I am screwed totally.  Please talk to Lemoyne tonight and let me know.  I can not run this high of a risk while sitting there with no power, water or being occupied.  Please, I cannot sleep at night over fear that it will get vandalized etc.  You can't lose.  I can

How about turn on power etc and make it look like someone lives there?  I cannot pay if vandalism and then it will foreclose.  Please at least consider that.

 

ME:

We both have alot at risk.  But until an offer is accepted we won't move.  As a mother I am sure you understand our position.

 

We have not heard back from her bank and put the counter offer in over 2 weeks ago.  I am tired of dealing with her and her bank!  I did not ask her to move out, shut off the power/water/etc.  That was all her doing!  I do want to be in a home.  We love both houses, each of them had their negatives and positives.  So I will pray in the mean time and God will put me where he wants us.  I just have to believe that.  So that is where I stand.

Amen.  You've survived X years with intermittent drama (haven't we all?), and you'll survive this too. Sucks that this is happening around the holidays. 

I guess just keep badgering the bank, ya know?

If you look over on the home buying board you will see I have some updates.  It sounds like everything is going through with the crazy lady's house and we will be in before the end of the year (yeah).  As for knowing if I am going to be rid of this woman for the rest of my life...I sure hope so.  She has caused more drama in my life in the last 10 months than I have had in the past 4 years.  This was an absolutely NUTS process.  I have expalined some on the Buying a home board but maybe I worded it wrong cause of the way I am reading the responses.  But I understand what they all mean.
