Fun Fact Friday: Name a fun/silly/whatever fact about your first date with your DH!
I was driving to work this morning and this song came on and it gave me this idea!....
I'll go :::
So on H & I first date we kinda did a big group date . my sister, and his brother went, and then we met my BFF her then boyfriend, and her sisters at the movie theater... we went and saw The Ring 2, lol, perfect first movie date.... I drove (his truck was in the shop at the time and he drove his ginormous work truck to my house).... so in my car I played Georgia Satellites "Keep your hands to yourself" ... if you don't know the song the lyrics go like this::: (oh, i wont type the whole songs, just some, or youtube it, I LOVE this song)
"got a little change in my pocket gonna jing a ling a ling
Want to call you on the telephone baby, I'll give you a ring
But each time I try I get the same old thing
Always no huggy no kissy until I get a wedding ring
My honey my baby don't put my love upon no shelf
She said don't hand no lines and keep your hands to yourself"
H still reminds me that I played this on our first date.... we also played it at our wedding, while we were doing the cake cutting.
so there ya go, a fun fact about our first date!
Re: Fun fact Friday!!
Oh no! atleast you had a very good excuse!
Our very first date was after we'd known each other at college for awhile and had casually hung out with groups of people. However... he called me up one night and basically said that either I needed to go on a real date with him or I had to quit hanging around with him. (The limbo state of our relationship was making him crazy apparently:)
So - our first real date he let me pick the restaurant, and I picked Fuddrucker's which is a casual burger and shake type place - but not fast food. If you don't know what Fuddrucker's is - think Red Robin. I picked it because I wanted a fun, upbeat atmosphere that didn't feel all romantic and weird... (I guess I still wasn't sure about the dating thing with him.) Well, it was a week night and we got to the restaurant and it was nearly empty! Yeah, I think maybe one other table had people at it. We both ordered these really messy BBQ type sandwiches and it was a pain in the butt trying to eat them, talk and not feel ackward in a giant and upbeat restaurant that happened to be nearly empty.
But.. our first date still led to love:)
BTW - what a fun question! I like all the stories.
we had met online (not through a dating site although we had both been doing Eharmony at the time)
we met online july 2, 2006 and we chatted/emailed/phoned for a while. We met in person Sept 8, 2006, at Lake George, NY. He had invited me to an event called Amerada (Americans and Candians who are members of the junior chamber of commerce (Jaycees) get together each year for a camping (and drinking) weekend. It was a lot of fun.
He invited me and sent me a link to the website, and I told him I had to sleep on it (and literally the next day called him to tell him I would go). So When the day came I took the train after work from Penn Station and met him. We spent the whole weekend together (with 50 other people).
What a fun first date! I
camping!
