Did you see the sample of scrapbook sheets I posted earlier?

I included my page for the Anne Frank house, so you could see how I displayed the pamphlet.

I will never, ever make another 8X8 book. They are too small to work with. I had to crop a lot, and make some tough choices about which pictures to keep. I tried to keep things pretty simple, without all the whose its and what nots, to keep the focus on the pictures, maps, tickets, etc.

Any opinions, suggestion, input is more than welcome.

p.s. - I am not a good photographer, and I prefer not to overlap pictures. It gives me the anxiety.

  • very nice!

i totally agree on the 8x8.  i prefer the 11 x 8.5.  that way, i can buy 12x12 paper and get a few uses out of it, and most photos are landscape oriented anyway,

  • I don't know how people have the patience to scrapbook. I'll spend four hours putting together a photo layout in Photoshop or InDesign, but there's no way in hell I'd literally cut & paste photos ever again.
  • for me, a big part is the physicality of it: i have a big stack of photos, a big stack of paper, and some glue.  afterwards, i have the idea in my head in physical form in front of me.

it's also a lot about the tactile feel of paper, and how it neatly cuts into the shapes i want, or is guided by an xacto.

  • I get that. I like feeling textures, too, and having physical, tangible results. But I also have issues with finishing projects that are THAT involved.
  • well, one page at a time.
