My brother got married in early November 2006. That year, for their Xmas card, they took a picture of themselves & their dog in front of the Christmas tree and slapped it on a card. Next to the picture, it said "Merry Christmas!" And under neat that, it said, "Thanks for..." and there were a bunch of blank lines (like a recipe card). On those lines was your wedding-gift thank you, and then it had, "From [them]" printed at the bottom.
I should've saved it (maybe I did, but I sure as hell can't find it right now) - it was the tackiest thing ever. I heard several comments from family & friends that year, and Bro saw nothing wrong with it.
Re: I told you about this, right?
We got a fill-in-the-blank TY once.
It was at work. The whole dept. had gone in on a wedding gift for one guy and his wife. The card was tweety bird. (yes, TWEETY BIRD!) It said something like "tank yew. tank you vewy much for the ________!" and they filled it in.
And yes, the whole department only got one of these and had to pass it around.
