What are you doing for Christmas/holidays?

Anyone going home if you are not from around here?  Or what do you usually do with family or whomever that you are looking forward to?

Re: What are you doing for Christmas/holidays?

  • This will be my 1st year in the 13 Christmases since I've been here that I'm not going home to Philly.  I'm pretty bummed about it, but ticket prices were like $560 each, and it was just too much for us right now, having just moved and all.

We'll be going home sometime in Jan when it's cheaper for a weekend to see family and the new addition to our family, my cousin's son who was born in Nov.  I can't wait to see him!

The hubby and I are going to Vegas for Christmas, because I didn't want to get all depressed being in LA.  Looking forward to gambling, maybe some shopping, and eating at the Bellagio buffet!! yummo.

  • Christmas in Vegas should be fun. I expect it won't be too crowded that time of year.

We're both from LA so we'll be spending Christmas with DH's family. We usually go to his parent's house, eat a lot, open gifts and drink. Our plans for New Year's eve aren't set just yet so don't know what we'll be doing.

  • We are also staying here in town - for the first time in 11 years.  We have a ridiculously large tree for our tiny place, and are hosting Christmas Eve cocktails for our other "homeless" friends.

I'll miss seeing the family, but I can't help but be excited to start our own traditions/holiday fun.
