Building a deck over a septic tank?
We'd like to build a deck coming off of our screened-in porch, but we have a septic tank off to the side of where we want to build it. We weren't planning on building the deck directly over the access to the tank, but someone told us we shouldn't put anything over the entire space where the tank is buried....thoughts?
Re: Building a deck over a septic tank?
Your local health department will have the answer for regulations that you must follow.
Also note that if your tank ever backs up, you may have to remove the part of the deck that is over the septic tank to fix it.
