Sort of new nestie...

I just wanted to say "hi" and introduce myself.  My name is Marci and we (my DH, DD who is 16 months old and myself) live in Shawnee.  I've been lurking on the nest since I got married 11-05-05.  Thought I'd finally start posting.  I work full time at Children's Mercy Hospital as a respiratory therapist.  Anyway, I'm not too technical, so don't know how long it will take me to figure out how to build a bio, put a pic in my siggy, etc...  So for now, I'll just post!

Beth (bmf8140), I grew up in Fairfax and know a lot of your family.  I remember seeing your bio on the knot and seeing pics of Kent and Barb at your wedding!  It's a small world!  And I have cousins that grew up in Kearney!  Anyway, congrats on your pregnancy and on finding out it is a boy.

I look forward to getting to know you all!

  • Hi and welcome! That is quite the introduction.

  • Welcome to the board!  I have a friend who is a respiratory therapist at Children's Mercy as well...Lori McGhee.  Do you know her?  Her hubby was our best man shortly after he and she got engaged!
  • Welcome to the board!  I'm glad you decided to start posting.  DH worked at CMH as a tech in the dialysis unit while attending nursing school.  He is going back to school to become a pediatric nurse practitioner in 2009 and wants to work there again because he loves taking care of kids.

Also, I'm wondering if you know anyone in the CF clinic.  I work for the foundation and know quite a few people working in the clinic.

  • I work in the CF clinic!!!  I'm an RT in the PFT Lab which is located in the Pulmonology and CF Clinic.  Working with children and adults with Cystic Fibrosis is my passion.  I love teaching airway clearance!  I think I've been in a few of the videos for the Breath of Life Ball.  I didn't make it to the walk in May because my daughter was sick, so I didn't get to meet you.  Let me know who you know....

p.s.  Your husband looks familiar, and since I've worked here for 11 years I'm sure I recognize him from seeing him around!

  • I know Lori, but I don't work with her.  I'm an employee of the pulmonology clinic and she works in the hosptial.  It sure is a small world!  Thanks for the welcome!
  • Oh Wow, it's a small world.? I know all the kiddos that go there for treatment.? They are the most beautiful and happy kids even though they are sick.? I've been with the foundation for 2 1/2 years and for the most part it is a wonderful place to work.? The families I have met are so wonderful and dedicated to finding a cure.? Thank you for all you do for them!
