Yeah, John and I are impulsive shoppers. But we're smart about it. We knew we needed a new stove, fridge and washer, but we're waiting till the cash for clunkers program kicks in. We went to Lowe's and they had a GORGEOUS stove for 40% off, so we bought it. Especially since they don't qualify for the cash for clunkers. Instead of staying at a hotel when we go home for Christmas we'll stay at my parents, that will help offset the cost. I HATE staying at my parents, so I'm secretly hoping for more snow. You can flame me if you want to, I don't care!

Re: Our impulse buy
sexy, huh, haha!! It has a convection oven which we really like, and since we don't have gas, we had to get electric.
VERY nice!!
Now is it true that you can't use cast iron on a glass cooktop?
it's not a glass top, I don't know what it is, but it isn't glass
OK I was wrong, it is ceramic, which is a type of glass. We're still OK since we have no cast iron that isn't enamel coated, (le crueset). So we're good. But thanks for sharing that could have been a disaster.
anytime! I don't even know if that's true. I heard it somewhere not long ago and we cook in cast iron a lot. I'm hoping to get an enamel coated cast iron for Christmas, we shall see. If not, I'll just get one of the knockoffs from Sam's.
