I'm not sure who the nestie is who works in passports but I need to get moving on my name change for an upcoming trip. I printed out the form but can't figure out the fee for the renewal. Also is there anywhere around Voorhees that does passport pictures? I see you can go to your local post office but there's always such a line at post offices! Also, a copy of the marriage cert is ok, right? Sorry for all the questions!
Re: Passport Name Change
The fee is $75 plus $60 if you want to expedite (add in $14.85 for express mail if you want that too).
I DO NOT reccomend paying anything extra. We are really slow now and the work is going through super fast.
Most CVS, Walgreens and Walmarts do pictures. Just make sure they are clear and not blurry befrore you send them in. The PO usually does the best job, but they are usually the most expensive.
As for the copy, right now we are taking them, but that will change shortly after the new year. So if you are doing it in the next week or two, a copy is fine.
Let me know if you have anymore questions!
Thanks so much! Your info is really helpful. I'm glad I can go to CVS for the pic. How do you recommend mailing it? I read you have to get a certain type of envelope and pay to track it.
Thanks fot the tip, I'll be sure to get it in by the end of the month!
You can send it priority mail at the post office. Its the cheaper option and has tracking. Some people use fedex or ups as well (mostly to avoid the post office lines, lol).
They all work equally well, just depends what you prefer.
Make sure you call CVS first. My local CVS's camera has been "broken" for a month now, lol. I ended up going to Walmart.
