Got to meet one of my favorite singers last night
I know he isn't super popular or anything, and he is probably more known for dating Britney Spears briefly, but one my favorite singers is Howie Day (if you don't know him, here is a link to his most well known song:?http://youtube.com/watch?v=JTz7rhommHI)
So I made the 3+ hour drive to Bangor all annoyed at myself for taking a wedding that far away, and I walk through the lounge to get to the ceremony area, and he is sitting at the bar in a tux. I've been a fan since college, for like 7 years, when he was a nobody and travelled around college campuses, so I recognized him instantly. Me being the awkward freak I am turned right around to find another route to the ceremony so I could compose myself. I grabbed a program and there his name was....he is the half brother of the groom.?
Long story short, I am pretty sure he caught me taping him directly at one point, but Im not sure! As I was leaving I was saying bye to the bride and I mentioned to her I was a huge fan of his and how cool I thought it was, yada yada...and she insists on me meeting him before I go, shouts his name and completely embarasses me by calling him over. I begged her not too cause I am really shy and nervous, but she insisted he was nice...so he came over....awkward convo ensued with me blabbering about being a huge fan for like 7 years now, but before I could say anything else his girlfriend came over and said someone wanted to see him, so he said nice meeting you and left. I didn't have a camera but I had a video camera. I was so excited! I know a lot of people wont know who he is, but I was so happy!
