Completely Stumped! Gift for Secretary...
I gave my paralegals cash because that is the firm norm. My secretary has a thing against receiving cash or gift cards as gifts and I have NO CLUE what to get her.
Any ideas? I'd like to spend around $75 - $100.

I am a secretary and some of the best gifts I received was actually a membership to BJ's. I was commuting 100 miles a day so I was able to use it for gas and then obviously for the store. I also agree with PP about any of her interests. It's too bad she doesn't like gift cards because I got Borders gift cards for my birthday from my boss and loved it. Something I was hoping my boss would say this year is a few extra days of time off for next year's maternity leave.
Good luck!

i was going to say wine too.
Is she into jewelry? Could you do a nice piece of jewelry if you know her style well enough?
A gift basket with chocolates, fruits and baked goods.
I like the idea of a centerpiece too.
So what about getting her a gift certificate for a massage somewhere, but include some lotions, etc with it? So you aren't handing her just a gc?
Who doesn't like cash??!!! I have never heard of that before.
How about a winter basket - gloves, hat, scarf, hot cocoa, wine, etc.
She doesnt drink wine...I was going to get her a bottle of grey goose and some misc other things, but I thought that was kind of lame.
She doesnt like chocolate (strange, huh?)
She likes the ballet and plays, but I don't know her well enough to know which she has been to...
She doesnt cook, although she does love getting flowers, so maybe the xmas centerpiece is a good idea...
She LOVES massages, but again, I hesitate getting her a gc there. ugh.
I think I'll have to confer with her office bff. I was hesitating doing so because she has a big mouth!
I know, right? She thinks cash is impersonal and apparently she ALWAYS loses gift cards (I wish I had know that before her birthday!)
I have to agree with that. DH and I have this debate all the time when it comes to his nieces and nephews. We just don't see them all the time so knowing what to get is difficult. But I just feel lame giving a gift card. The other reason and I know this is cheap of me is that I can spend less on a gift and it can still be nice. With a gift card you end up spending more money on a person than you plan just so you don't appear cheap.
I like the massage idea and you might be able to keep the gc on file with the spa. That way she won't lose it. If you know that she enjoys this than why not do it.
Jeez, I don't think I've ever given personal gift restrictions to people before! I wouldn't even know how to bring it up...
I was gonna suggest a massage, and I see that is what you went with, so good luck!
Oh she is one of a kind
LOL. She is a little quirky, a little demanding & a little too talkative, but she is very good at her job.
