Re: Weekend Recap

  • Our weekend was good.  I can't remember Friday at all...weird.  Saturday  we ran errands and got our Christmas tree.  Sunday I finished all the touch up paint and cleaning in the nursery and then helped K get her gifts wrapped for family.  We spent way too much time at Walmart waiting for photos to print and then split at dinner at Chili's because it was 8pm and we were both too tired and too hungry to cook :-p

  • hectic! We basically stayed home all weekend but i dont think i've ever been busier! two kids require LOTS of attention, and generate LOTS of laundry and dishes!  thank goodness for our wonderful friends and family who have been stopping by to help and bring dinner.  Accepting help is not something I've ever been good at, but i'm learning quickly :)

  • Our weekend was good.  Friday evening we baked and frosted cookies for family and Santa, then DD and I watched a movie while DW was at work.  Saturday we went to the dress shop to pick up DD's baptism dress, then off to the IL's to take MIL flowers.  We finished frosting the cookies from Friday, then DW went to work and DD and I made Pecan Logs.  On Sunday morning, DW and DD left me at home so they could buy my Christmas gift.  In the afternoon we met up with DW's two sisters and their other niece at the mall so they could all take pictures.  Once we dropped them off we made a spur of the moment decision to drive to my Dads house to visit my brother who had driven up from San Diego to exchange gifts.  We stayed until 11:30 last night and then had to drive an hour back home.

We are all in the midst of having a cold as well.

  • We had a nice weekend.

Friday the girls went to the dentist, they did pretty well. The baby actually cried less than LMC :-) We did a bit of shopping and let them play in the play area at our outdoor mall. We won our decorating contest and I was thrilled. We took the kids to see the lights after.

Saturday we went to see my mom and had a great time. The girls are so loved :-)

Sunday S's father and SM came over., It wasn't as dreadful as we anticipated. They actually showed an interest in the girls, asked questions,  brought them gifts and were pleasant. That is big.

I am so glad it went well with S's father and SM!  I love when family members make good change!

    ditto! thats great!

  • Our weekend was BUSY!

We planned to start checking things off our to-do list, but after the miserable commute I had getting home, plans changed, and we opted to snuggle on the couch and split some take out.

Saturday we got an early start and spent the whole day shopping.  It was crazy out at the stores, but we got pretty much everything done and had a good time together.  By the end of the day, we were exhausted! C did a quick grocery run to hold us over until we leave for Harrisburg tomorrow, and I wrapped all our gifts.

Sunday we waited out the tail end of the snow for a bit, and left later than planned to visit my family to have Xmas with them - it took us almost 2 hours to get there instead of the usual 1 hour, thanks to the road conditions.  We were behind schedule, but still got to see everyone, spend some time together and exchange gifts.

By the time we got home at 8:00 I was so incredibly tired! So thankful that this is only a 2-day work week and then we'll be off until the 29th!!

  • Friday it took me forever to get home. I met L and the kids at our Mexican place and enjoyed a nice margarita while the rest of them ate.

Saturday we got up and resigned ourselves to a day at home (we had thought that only 1-3" would fall overnight and we'd have time to run a few early morning errands.) There were 7" at 7am. We cleaned like madwomen, played in the snow, played in the playroom, made snow cream, watched movies, played in the playroom some more, made our own pizzas, and crashed. It is exhausting entertaining kids for 13 hours! In the end we had 18" of snow.

Sunday 3 teenage boys from the neighborhood came over and offered to shovel the drive/sidewalks. SOLD. We paid them extra to dig out the cars (both of which had been buried by a plow.) Best $60 we ever spent. We took L's truck and headed to Annapolis. We picked up my dad's b-day cake and had brunch while we were there (YUM.) I dropped L and the boys off at the mall and I went to TRU to get gifts for the family our clinic adopted for the holidays. It was suprisingly calm. My parents finally got into town and we met them at their hotel and then went to a Japanese Steakhouse for dinner.

Today we couldn't find a sitter so I took the kids to work with me. We stopped at Target and finished shopping for the family and then went to work so I could wrap it all. The kids destroyed my office and I was about to go insane. We met my parents at their hotel so they could give the kids their gifts and then we went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner. The kids got to bed super late and I just finished Christmas cards.

I am going to be off tomorrow since we don't have childcare again. Ugh.
