1- So today's the first day of winter, yes? I'm over it. We have 18 inches of snow on the ground. It's freezing. And DH & I haven been stuck in the house together for 3 days. This is not as fun as it sounds. I really want him to go somewhere. Like, now.

2- Christmas is with the ILs, as it is every year. But this year, I feel there will be a come-to-Jesus about MIL, FIL, and their rampant marital problems. And I feel I will be the one to start it.

3- It's 4 days to Christmas and I haven't bought a single gift. I had big shopping plans for Saturday and yesterday, but I guess y'all know what happened with that. Please see #1.

4- Our cable bill is going to be bananas next month 'cause we wore the On Demand out this weekend. Good thing he starts this new job in January to pay for it.

5- Huzzah! It looks like DH is going somewhere. And further huzzah; he's going Christmas shopping and did not even suggest that I accompany him. I appreciate his cabin fever and his understanding that I don't leave the house during natural disasters unless life, death or grades depend on it.

Mmmkay, bye. And happy holidays if I don't come back before then.

Re: Drive by posting

  • H agrees on the cabin fever - they were basically on house arrest all weekend. He said that DC drivers have no idea how to navigate (or really even just function) in the snow.
  • I get you on the cabin fever - Philly got a record 23.6" of snow - we had about 20" in our area. Luckily DH has been in and out since yesterday, and he's been bringing me everything I want, so I haven't had to venture out. The driveway, sidewalk, and cars are pretty clear, but our road still looks pretty covered.
  • 1. Been there, done that.  Try it with a child...So, so, so much worse.

    2. Please to be remembering all of the awesomeness that goes down.  Take pictures if possible.  Hell, bring a recording device so you can remember all the details.

    3. Meh, Christmas is overrated.

    4. All I can think of is "This isht is bananas, b-a-n-a-n-a-s".

    5.  YAY!  Hopefully he buys you something pretty.

Happy holidays, Merry Christmas...Enjoy no school!!

  • My family all appeared to be dug out of it by Saturday evening, which surprised me based on what I've heard from other people.

I had a hearty laugh at my aunt telling me I've never seen it snow like that. In Syracuse we called 22 inches a dusting.
