What shall I add to this gift for my sister and her husband?

My sister and her family are over from Australia for Christmas.

They're going to spend a few days at the beach between Christmas and New Year.

I thought I'd get sister and her DH  a bag and fill it with things to enjoy at the beach.

So it will be a hessian fair trade bag that they can just fold down into their luggage when they head home.

So far I've thought of putting in a bottle of wine, a couple of magazines, a tin of cookies.

What else could I add? They'll be driving about 2 hours in the hot sun to the beach so  I don't want to put in things that would spoil like chocolate, cheeses, fruits etc

They're renting at a beach house that will have most things they'll need by way of cooking, entertainment etc.

I'm trying to think of consumables or things that will pack up very small for when they head home.

Thoughts? Thanks

  • If you're sending a bottle of wine, remember to include a cork screw to open it with.
    Damn Pictures, Images and Photos
I've got more issues than a magazine
  • What about snorkels? Those pack pretty well and you don't have to worry about breaking, and that way they will have something to remember the trip/day by

  • - sunscreen

    - sand bucket and shovels

    - waterproof disposable camera

    - spray bottle to mist off with while sitting on the beach

    - reusable water/drink bottles (they can fill them with water before heading to the beach and they can keep them afterwards)

    - a deck of cards

    - aloe lotion (in case of too much sun)
