re: New Year's
We were looking forward to having an entire week at home with nothing to do after zmas. That is, until I realized, we'd be here, and all of our friends will be OOT on New Year's. That means no one to celebrate with
We could: 1) try to see what is going on in Dallas with people we know there (most likely, they'll be OOT).
2) Spend a day driving to LA, spend two days there, spend another day driving back. Lose all down time but two days. Those days would be spend doing laundry, etc from just getting back or getting ready to go somewhere.
I'm leaning towards just staying here, but then know I will regret it on the 31st and I'll get the hammy downs, hard.
Re: WWWWD?
We had this issue, combined with the ones in town being unemployed and unable to spend the $200 just to get into the party.
We're just going to dinner and enjoying a rented hotel room. People are invited over to the hotel room on their way to pre-party if they want, it's a two room suite. Other than that, it's just us because we don't want to deal.
Is there a hotel or something in OKC you could attend?

Ditto on looking locally. LA's going to be an expensive, hipster madhouse.
For that price, you can either meet new people, or just meet your hubby and a bottle of Dom and create your own party.
But how much fun would you have with your H's friends? Just playing devil's advocate. I like DH's friends, but I sort of think spending a holiday like NYE would suck.
Here you go: http://specialoffers.starwoodhotels.com/sheraton_oklahoma_city/so.htm?iATANumber=.
Sheratons tend to be pet-friendly as well so Jake can have his own NYE celebration.
Well, then. I obviously have not had enough sleep.
Louisiana is an improvement, but I'm still w/ PMeg on that one.
I'm not even going to jokingly suggest Miami. lol
We've gone to a few NYE house parties, but my favorite way to spend it is at home, just the two of us.
Last year we were having some awesome BCBC when the clock sturck 12, and I'm hoping to do the same this year.
Stay home. Drink a bottle of champagne, get some decadent food, and bang pots and pans at midnight. Then go bang something else.
I'm a homebody though.
