Good sushi/Japanese food recommendations?

We're meeting up with my brother and sister on 12/26 (Sat)- we live in Cincy, they'll be in Cleveland.

Can you recommend some great sushi and/or Japanese restaurants?

Re: Good sushi/Japanese food recommendations?

  • There are a lot of great sushi places in Columbus! Our favorite is Hama in Easton. Its slightly expensive, but the quality is amazing.

For a great restaurant though that includes Sushi and other meals as well, Asian Gourmet located at 1325 Stoneridge Drive in   Gahanna (a Columbus suburb) is fabulous! Even better, you go to restaurant.com and buy $25 gift certificates for $10. We do this all the time!! They print right from your computer and we;ve never had an issue with them excepting them. I believe you have to spend a minimum of $35 to use it.

Asian Gourmets prices aren't bad and their sushi quality is excellent!

  • Whole Foods, either location, have great sushi available made fresh every day.  When we were in college, my husband and I got sushi from Bento GoGo up on High Street across from The Ohio Union.  I've also heard Shoku (sp?) is really good.  Good luck!

  • I second Asian Gourmet. That is my favorite place to eat. They also have a new place at Easton. It is called Edamame. They moved some of the same sushi chefs from the other location to this new one. It is very good, and it is pretty cool inside.
  • Kihachi in Dublin outdoes every place around here...amazing.
