So who's knocked up?

Re: So who's knocked up?

  • fvck yeah!  GG!  I was actually thinking about that recently and was going to post a thread asking about you and Crys.. but never actually got around to it.

    Congrats!

p.s. did you use a sturdy towel?

  • Whoa! Congrats Drunken! :-)

12+ weeks... is this a HM baby?

I'm not knocked up yet, but DH and I just bought our first house, so the pitter patter of little ones are not too far off in the distance. I can't wait!
  • Luckily, my husband is so virile, that no sturdy towel was necessary ;-)

No HM baby.  Took about 2 months to get r done, but it worked!  I tried to chart but I'm REALLY lazy, so I charted for about a month and then we decided just to have a lot of sex.  So that worked out pretty well for us!

And as luck, or not, would have it, I'm due April 8.  Fuckk.  I have to spend my first year anniversary taking care of a newborn.  There go my plans for a minimoon.  Oh well :-)
  • Umm, I am sitting here shaking my head at the thought that I even suggested that 12wks = April honeymoon. Ugh, clearly my weekend brain was in charge when I made my last comment (which apparently is not up on elementary math).

Anyway, congrats again Drunken. You'll be minimooning in your living room with a precious little drunken one to take care of. Meanwhile, you can dream of umbrella drinks and pool boys.
  • Congrats drunken!! Thats exciting!!

congrats to Mrs P as well on the first house!

I just had my first month off bcp. I'm not charting (agree with drunken, too lazy to do it. And I think it would stress me out). So we aren't really trying, just not preventing either.
  • Hey congratulations!  No baby for us, DH told me the other night he wants one in 3 years, I told him that we can reasses the situation in 3 years b/c I don't really want one at all.  Who knows, in 3 years I may be bored and want a little one just to keep me company b/c I seriously doubt I will still be working by then.

  • We are!! Got my BFP on Sept. 19th!!
  • congratulations!!!!!!!! I too was thinking about you and Chrysallys. We're planning to wait about 4/5 years That's great news! So happy for you guys!
  • congrats hunter!
  • Thanks for the congrats! Its been exciting.
  • Hey congrats on the house MrsP!  That's a pretty huge commitment right there.  Probably cheaper than a kid in the long run ;-)

And yay Hunter with the BFP!
  • Just make sure you remind the kid that he or she ruined your first anniversary.  You'll need to guilt for when it's time to go into a retirement home ;)

So recently, I started thinking it wouldn't be so bad to have a kid.  This turned into "I'd really like to have a kid some day".  WTH?  Years of not wanting to go through child birth and now it hits?  And get this.  I'd only want to do it natural and go to a birthing center instead of a hospital.  Epidurals scare the schite out of me, and I figure with my history with kidney stones, I could deal with the pain.

I'm not the only one reconsidering either.  I told DH a couple of weeks ago that I'm starting to think that it wouldn't be the end of the world if I got pregnant.  He agreed and said he had been thinking about it recently.

But since I married a grad student, it will still be a couple of years before we'll be able to do it.

  • No luck here yet. I have been charting for four month. No luck yet - I'm not even ovulating. :-(   Trying to stay positive though. Going back to doc at 6 month to see what the next step will be.

Congrats to all who are expecting!!!!!!!!!
  • Congrats drunken and hunter!  Can't wait to see pics of the little bundle of joys.  ;0)
  • Congrats Drunken!
  • We are!  We are!  5 weeks and I just can't keep it a secret.

Congrats drunken and hunter!  Hang in there Kristin.  It is so hard to not have it happen each month.
  • * Raises my hand too* Congrats everyone...H&H 9 months to ya!

  • I know I'm late...but we are too!  Only 5 weeks 3 days today, and due on June 20th. Went off BCP in August and got my BFP 10/8/07, yay for marrying a man with super sperm! :) Congrats to everyone else expecting!
  • wow! so many people here expecting wee babies!!! Congrats to you all!!!
  • I *think* I am. My period is expected to come on Sunday but I tested yesterday and got what appeared to be positive.(faint lines but def. there) This is only my 2nd cycle off bcp and I didnt chart/temp etc.

I am going to wait until Sunday to test  again to make sure before telling DH.
  • HOw exciting Kim, a faint positive is usually a REAL positive, congrats!

  • The first time I did the test, it was faint.  In fact, this is how it went.

    Me: *pees on stick*
Me:  "hey, hubster, does this look like a line to you?"
Him: "kinda, I guess.  why, if it is, does that mean you're pregnant?"
    Me:  "yeah"
    Him: "well do another one"
Me:  "i don't have another one"
Him:  *keys in hand*  "let's go!"

45 minutes later, we have literally 10 boxes of tests, "just in case"

Me: "Okay, it looks more like a line this time"
    Him:  *opening champagne* "YAY!!!"
  • haha thats funny drunken! I went out and bought a digital so I didnt have to do the whole "is that a line?" I have some more non-digital ones at home that I will use to test on Sunday with.
