Re: who has seen karate kid 2

  • i saw this movie. i do not know if i can help, but i can try.
  • at the end, there is a fight at the castle between daniel and chozen.  mr. miyagi and yukie pick up toy drums and begin playing them, twisting them back and forth.

daniel then begins twisting back and forth, like the drum, deflecting blows from chozen and scoring hits.

did you put together the action of the drum = way to win the fight?

  • Ha! No, silly. The way to win a fight is to see who can honk the others' nose first. The drum is just a DIVERSION! To make them think you're going to keeeeeell them. When all you really want to do is get his nose then laugh heartily! Har har har!
  • DUH, yes. just like the way to win the fight in #1 is to remember how to stand like the crane on the posts at the beach.

this movie didn't seem so stupid at the time.

  • The drum was brought out earlier in the film. It was to show Daniel the twist move. That's why Mr. Miyagi did it during the big fight. To remind Daniel of that.

    And it was a diversion.

  • i totally skimmed over that part when i was a kid.

i did thoroughly enjoy watching this movie again during snow day, especially daniel with his "miss saigon" robe, which he wore over jeans.  as you do.
