No. I associate it with Barry, the character from Friends. It also sounds like Larry, which is not OK, either.

My H worked with a Berry, and he named his son Berry too.  They both go by it, no nicknames. You just say Berry and the 7 yr. old and dad both look, its crazy.  There was also a Barry in the same department, so they called the Berry - black Berry (it was his idea) and yes he is black, I always refuse to call him that.
