My little sister just got engaged and now I get to help her plan her wedding! Oh I've missed planning so much, but I planned mine in CT.
First question, does anyone have a spreadsheet of Memphis reception sites and the cost per person? I have no frame of reference since everything was totally ridiculously priced here.
Re: Calling Memphis Brides!!
I live in Memphis, but did not get married here. We had a destination wedding. But, here are a few places your sister may want to consider ...
Appling Manor - I went to a wedding here and it's very nice for a small wedding.
The Cadre Building - Beautiful venue. I hear it may be pricey though.
The Botanic Gardens - Beautiful venues available for weddings.
Dixon Gallery and Gardens - The Hughes Pavilion is gorgeous. But, you have to be a member to rent it. They do have other areas open for rental.
Brooks Museum also has wedding/event spaces.
I know there is a list of caterers on the Cadre Building's website, so you can start from there. I also recommend checking out CFY Catering. The owner is my friend's brother-in-law. She said CFY recently catered her company Christmas party (the first time she used them for an event) and they did a fantastic job. She said their presentation was very creative and the food was wonderful.
Good luck!
You could check out the Woodruff-Fontaine house.
Also, does your sister have a wedding photographer?
i had my reception at the Botanic Gardens.
they have 2 rooms for 500 and to get round tables its 10 per table.
they also have a room for 2800 and that gets you catering and servers. all of the rooms that i looked at had beautiful views. or if she is having a late spring/summer wedding she could book one of the gardens. keep in mind that what ever room/garden she chooses she and her guests will have free movemen throughout the gardens GREAT photo opps.
