post surgery sadness

*crying softly*  When did bacon get so salty.  It's so salty.  I am so sad.  It taste, which I use to dream about, is now a violent attack on my tougne.

*chugs coffee*  ewww, why does my coffee taste burnt?

WTF!!!!!!! Is there anything that I used to like that doesn't taste like it's trying to destroy my taste buds with explosions of flavor?

*stares at my tougne but gets a headache from crossing my eyes*

I just can't win today. Crying

Re: post surgery sadness

  • Come over and I'll make you something super bland.
  • Have you started trying foods you used to dislike before the sugery? You might like them now?

  • this bacon issue can be easily remedied by dipping in maple syrup.

  • Uh... what about lower sodium bacon and a latte? :-/

  • bacon: you can actually wash off some (just a little) of the salt before you cook it. just run it under water for a minute. you can also buy lower sodium bacon. it works.

coffee often tastes burnt from Dunkin DOnuts. try Maxwell House. it's very mild. the breakfast blend is very good.

i am so sorry for your tastebuds. have you considered picking up the smoking habit? i hear it kills your taste sensations.

  • bacon can also be boiled.

  • I had my sinuses fixed, so now I can breath thru my nose better.  As such my sense of taste has gone off the radar.

I have started trying foods I didn't like before to see if I like them now.  I now like:

duck, mushrooms, chinese cake (sponge cake with fruit and lightly whiped frosting), congee

    Dislike:

sunflowerseeds, bacon (waaaah!), salt in general, soda and I can no longer stand to fry food anymore becuase of the oil smell so bye bye french fries, chicken cutlets and fried chicken.

    *le sigh*
