A story from Thanksgiving

I was sick after Thanksgiving, so I didn't get to tell all of my stories.

Here is one since it is slow.

MIL dumped the can of cranberries onto a plate and cut it into peices. She set it on the table in front of me. Nephew comes up and asks, "What is that" while he simultantaneously picked up a gobby piece of canned cranberry. He droped it back onto the plate after saying "EW!", and tried to walk away.

I grabbed his shirt and said, "That is food. Once you touch food, it is yours. You can eat it, or throw it away, but it against the rules to leave it there. It is unsanitary. Now pick it up and go wash your hands when you are done with it."

H's grandmother (Memaw) started howling. She said I was going to have everyone acting right by the end of my stay. Memaw has been known to threaten to cut the boys, "deep, wide, and frequent" when they don't act right. She is my kind of gal :)
