Poll: What did you get H for Christmas?
I'm trying to find out if I should go out and buy one more thing.
I got H 2 Cesar Millan books, a puppy book by the Monks of New Skete, the Super Freakonomics audiobook to listen to on our drive to get Herbert, and one of those ball flinging sticks (heh) for him to play catch with Herbert.
So there is a clear puppy theme here. Should I get him something non puppy related? Is this like giving a pregnant woman baby gifts for her birthday?
Re: Poll: What did you get H for Christmas?
Something not puppy related might be nice.
I got man four shirts and a photo from Hawaii to open and he'll be getting the receiver portion of surround sound as well.
did you get him anything NPR? (not puppy related)? since he said he didnt care what he wanted anyway, it's probably fine.
i got him a game for the Wii, which he'll probably hate. i can't remember if he said it was too kiddie or not.
i also got him his traditional box of t-shirts, pj pants, a shirt and tie for work, a fake book you can hide things in and place on the bookshelf, grinch boxers, Giants beer bottle koozies, and the book Festivus. oh, and a dresser valet to put his wallet and keys in one place.
i spent very little on that stupid list of crap, because it was all on sale at one of the discount stores.

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
I vote yes on a non puppy related item - maybe something that's more of an experience than an item. (Tickets to a sporting event/concert/comedyshow/theatre production/etc., a really nice dinner out, a man spa day (massage or something of the like) - if he'd be into that, etc.)
I got H a bunch of DVDs, an "Airzooka" (I figure he'll have fun teasing the dogs with it), Apples to Apples - the game, The new Super Mario Bros for Wii, a Dane Cook CD/DVD combo, cologne, and was planning to get him some wine/beer and a few stocking stuffers, but with being on all of the pain meds (and not wanting to drive), may just make him a coupon IOU for a trip to Total Wine for when I'm feeling better. I know he'll understand.
i got dh a nice replacement watch and card holder set. we're getting each other a weekend away for the holidays, to be redeemed in the spring.
What Lego sets? I have always wanted one of those BIG lego Pirate ships (like the $100+ ones) but have never splurged on it. I mentioned it to H last year and he bought me a Mega Blocks version, which was nice, but not as good. I saw him looking around in the Lego store in King of Prussia mall last week, but I know he didn't get anything that day.
I brought my Legos back to Philly last time I visited my parents - I just haven't had time to break them out.
I got him an electric shaver. Found out AFTER I got home that the box was already opened, so I hope it works and that it doesn't suck, since I also did zero research on electric shavers before buying.
If I were willing to go shopping today or tomorrow, I would add new socks and PJs to his bounty. He also asked for a weight vest but will probably buy it for himself in a month or two.
We were going to get each other the flat panel TV, but money is tighter than expected with my unpaid maternity leave. Booo.
I got H a black iPod Nano. He took over my Mini when he gave me my orange Nano for my birthday this year. He never really understood the whole iPod thing until he had one. Then he fell in love. But I know he got close to filling it up and was kind of bummed about that. So I got him his own Nano.
I also got him a Pocket Ref (it's this great little book that gives you pretty much all the info you could possibly need)
And the usual stocking stuffer things.
Currently Reading: Don Quixote by Miguel De Cervantes
He likes the city sets, so I got him the Town Plan, Green Grocer and Wind Turbine. I never realized how expensive Legos can be! He's got a ton of sets, most of which are broken down and in his mom's attic. Someday we'll have a basement with an area for his Lego Town. And a bar. Maybe I can get him to build a Lego bar?
Those are some expensive Lego sets- DH works there part-time. We ended up getting his 10 y.o. cousin the fire house and two other large sets during his half-off day for his uncle. I think DH bought me Frank Llloyd Wright's Falling Water for Christmas (because I shook the box). I'm excited! He buys me the little architecture series stuff because I'm an architecture geek. When he helped open the store, he got to bring home Cafe Corner and the Death Star to build (for monies).
Anyway, I bought DH a RPG book, a couple zombie books, two books on writing, slippers, and a new robe.
