I got a new computer for Christmas (from my awesome IL's) and I wanted to hook my iTouch up to it. If I download iTunes and hook up my iTouch to it, will I loose all my songs? HELP!
Re: New Computer and iPod
It depends. Do you have your iPod set to "Manually manage music and videos"? If you do, your iPod won't sync up with the new computer automatically. If you don't, it will automatically sync up, and you might lose stuff.
If you do lose your stuff, what's the worst that could happen, though? If you do lose your stuff, just hook it back up to your old computer and you'll have all your stuff back.
How do I know if it is set to that or not?
The problem with setting it up to my old computer is that I cant, it died, hence my inlaws buying me a new laptop. Its an iTouch so I have just been downloading music and apps on there and not going through my computer.
When your old computer worked, did you plug the iPod in and let iTunes move all the music over, or did you drag everything from your music collection to your iPod? If the former, then it is not set to manually manage. If the latter, it is set to manually manage.
As to the rest of the stuff, I can't answer well because I don't use an iPod Touch. I'll let someone else take the reins on that one.
