How was everyone's Christmas?

So..how was it? Get good stuff?

I guess I had a pre-Christmas day sadness but yesterday/Christmas Eve was pretty good for me.

Christmas Eve we drove to B'ham and it went like this MIL's house/My mom's house repeat x2. Fun stuff.

We usually do Christmas with my in-laws on Christmas Eve and the power went out right as H opened the first present and was lifting it up to look at it. Needless to say, it'll be a memorable Christmas because I've never opened gifts by candle/flashlight..lol.

Went and slept at my mom's that night so we could do Christmas with her and my Aunt & Uncle came over and we opened gifts and talked for a while. Then we all went over to MIL's house for lunch and got to see H's grandparents (my aunt + his grandma = Trouble..lol)

H got to watch Christmas Vacation and I got to watch Elf yesterday (mine was commercial free so I win) and I finally got to play my new Super Mario Bros wii game. I Love it.

On to the presents. MIL got me some awesome gifts. I got pocket Jacob and Bella (and he will not spend time in the bushes), a New Moon calendar, some money, a non-stick pan for H and I, and the best thing ever...a Nook! Granted I won't get it til next month but I'm super excited. H got me another mixing bowl for my kitchenaid, FIL & his gf got H and I a down comforter and a duvet cover, and my mom gave us each money and I got LOST season 5 and Super Mario Bros wii.

H got a lot of good stuff too and today I'm going to BAM to take advantage of their sales and the coupon they emailed me..whoohoo

Re: How was everyone's Christmas?

  • Crystal, I'm glad to hear your Christmas was good.

Mine was good too.  I had to work Christmas Eve from 7-2 and when I got off work DH and I went to a late lunch at Dreamland.  Then we went home to rest up before going to my aunt's.  It was good because I got to see some relatives that I hardly ever see, but the bad part was there are certain members of the family who continue to disregard me like they have my whole life.  But I'm trying to be the bigger person and let it go.  But needless to say we didn't stay there long.

But after that we went to my parents' with my brother and SIL and opened presents.  Bro and SIL got us this beautiful wall art that's made out of metal that looks like a bookcase.  They obviously know we both love to read.  Now we're trying to figure out where to hang it.  Then both parents got us a movie and a meal gift card with some money (which we both spent today including my score at BAM, and I'm about to post more about that on NBC Crystal, I'm really excited about it)

Christmas Day we had lunch at my cousin's and then we left to go to James' grandparents.  Then after all the festivities were over we ate dinner at Al's then came home.

    Siggy coming soon....
  • My Christmas was pretty good. I didn't really ask for anything in particular so everything I got was a pleasant surprise! :)

The most special thing that I got was an Ed Hardy necklace that my husband gave me. I was tickled pink to get that.

Actual Christmas Eve/Christmas Day involved a lot of traveling from place to place since my husband's folks are divorced. I keep telling him once we have kids, the traveling is OVER. lol. Everyone can come see us at that point. :-)

ITA..I've told this to my H numerous times and we're far from TTC

  • I feel the same way as both of y'all...my parents are divorced, as are my husband's. I think we are both left with a slight feeling of guilt for not being able to see everyone during the holidays. It can be difficult sometimes. We have no plans to TTC, but I think if we ever have a baby, that when the travelling will stop. Although, it may stop without a baby in the picture. HA!

Our Christmas was really nice though. We were at my mom's (she doesn't live too far from us, which is nice). We got a lot of nice things, and ate a lot of good food. It was nice to have a few days away from work....I took all of last week off. I have to go in tomorrow and Tuesday, but will be off this Wed-Fri....so there is that.

Glad to hear everyone had a nice Christmas! I am ready to get 2010 started....

I hear ya about the traveling. Let's protest next year lol! ;) I am ready to get 2010 started too.

  • My Christmas was great!  This was the first year since we have been married that I didn't have to work, so I actually got to attend all the get togethers.  We went to my parents' house on Christmas Eve and had such a good time.  Although my 16 year old cousin attemped to drive my uncle's suburban and got it stuck in the yard.  She was so embarrassed.  I couldn't help but laugh.  Christmas day we went to Jeff's grandparents and his parents house.  It was such a long day!  Then on the 26th we went to see Jeff Dunham at the BJCC.  He was hilarious.

I didn't really ask for much so I got mostly money and small stuff.  The money will sure come in handy though, so I was excited.  Jeff got a PS3 that he was stoked about.

I had all of last week off too and I am totally dragging at work today.  Thank goodness it is slow!

  • Hey strangers!

Christmas was a hectic rush of travelling, but we had a great time anyway!

Jaxon got tons of stuff, of course :)

I got a Vera Bradley AU sweatshirt and earrings from DH, I got him Transformers on BluRay and an AU wallet.  We bought a bluray player for "our" gift.

I got clothes, a sweeper broom thing (idk how to explain it), cooking stuff, jewelry, and a purse organizer.  The purse thing is so neat, you organize your stuff in there, and then move it from purse to purse, so your stuff stays together!

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and has a Happy New Year!

  • Our Christmas was fun!  We went to the mountains from the 19th to the 23rd.  It was nice to get away from all the holiday rush...and just enjoy the season :)

We had a great time at our family's gtg's.  Got tons of GC's for random places to eat.  Those are my favs!!  When you work night shift....it's nice to say "I don't feel like cooking tonight...let's go use our Chili's GC"...lol!

The things I wanted the most was a Pink snuggie....and a Dirt Devil Brum!  Ended up with two of each....SCORE :D
