I really want to do our bedroom over, but since we are house hunting I think I'll wait until we get our own house to do that. But I"m not sure what to do with it. I've always like a beachy theme- something calm and soothing...
So.......
1. What color are your walls?
2. Do you have a theme, and if so what is it?
3. What did you use to help decorate your room -magazines, websites etc?
4. What does your bedding look like?
5. What stores did you go to to buy things for your room?
TIA!!!

We recently redecorated our bedroom so this question is righit up my alley
1. Our walls are a silvery steel blue. The lower half is a cherry wood wainscoting, and we have the same wood trim around all our windows and doors.
2. It's very indian-inspired and the colors are blue, brown, white and cream. I have always loved that color scheme, and knew the blue would work great with all the wood in the room. We have white curtains, with bamboo blinds.
3. I watch all those home improvement shows and have read mags... but I sorta thought up things in my head, and found all the pieces I had envisioned. The room really came together well and is almost done!
4. - I saw the comforter at LNT, had to have it and designed my room around it. Our comforter is white with brown scrolly indian-inspired designs, and I replicated that design by making a custom piece of art work for above our bed. Matches it beautifully We have steel blue toss pillows to match the walls & end bamboo throw blanket, and lots of white & chocolate brown accent pillows to tie it all in.
5. LNT sells the comforter but I got it at Mardens (discontinued), Mardens for square mirrors, Home Depot for Paint & bamboo blinds, JC Penny for bamboo blanket & white sailor cloth curtains, TJ Maxx for throw pillows, accent pieces & art work. WALMART for the canvas & art supplies for my 'comforter art' project
ok, wow, i just talked your ear off as if anyone cares about my silly bedroom I don't even have a picture of! OOPS!
Our bedroom is probably going to be LAST priority for remodeling in this house as we figure that DH and I are really the only ones who ever see it! Our bathroom is the next thing on the list to redo and we are hoping to have that done by the end of the year so our bedroom isn't even on the horizon yet!
I'll still play, though, so you can all laugh at my answers.....
1. What color are your walls?
Color? HA! This will not surprise you at all if you have heard my remodeling stories from the rooms that we HAVE tackled in this house.... there are probably SEVERAL layers of wallpaper that will have to come down eventually! The top layer, though, is a very LARGE floral pattern (think white, pink, purple, green, blue)
2. Do you have a theme, and if so what is it?
Because of the wallpaper, I guess it's FLOWERS!!!
3. What did you use to help decorate your room -magazines, websites etc?
Ok - whatever.....
4. What does your bedding look like?
It's a shiny tan comforter - I actually LOVE the material, it's too bad that gets lost amongst the flowers, though!!!
5. What stores did you go to to buy things for your room?
The bed frame came from Furniture World (before they closed). The dresser came from Bobs. I have a wooden chest at the food of the bed that was a gift from my parents. Now, our computer desk is also in our bedroom (our former office is Caroline's bedroom these days) and that came from the Mill Stores. Can you say HODGEPODGE??
1. Our walls are Boston Fern (nice lovely shade of green)
2. No theme but we have a lot of wrought iron stuff
3. DH does most of the decorating
4. Our bedding is usually cream sheets with a tan comforter
5. Linen-n-things and Kohls. Our bed came from pier one and our homemade night stands came from Abode (in Portsmouth) and are actually plant stands that we put marble tile on top of (from Homeless Depot).
