I just found out I am pregnant on Christmas Eve after working with a reproduction expert for several months. We are super excited!! I had been going to the same OBGYN for 15 years but several things have lead me not to feel comfortable with my care there and I am looking for referrals.
I think I want to deliver at St. John's but might consider St. Lukes also. I have a Unicorn Uterus (aka I'm missing 1/2 my uterus) and there can be complications staying pregnant or having preterm labor so I want to find someone I can trust who is confident in handling this situation-possibly even a high risk OBGYN. Can anyone offer any reccomendations? Preferably someone within reasonable driving distance to Chesterfield/Ballwin area.
THANKS!!
Re: OBGYN's?
My mom saw a Dr Pearl who works out of Barnes-Jewish in St. Peters and really liked him. He delivered my 3 younger siblings (youngest sibling is 14). She now sees (and really likes) Dr Margaret Rempe in St. Louis because my sisters and I didn't like the idea of a male OBGYN, so she did a little research for us. My mom and sister like her as a GYN (I just moved back to STL, so I have yet to see her) but have no experience with her as an OB. HTH a little
From what I hear, defiantly go St Johns.
I see the doctors at Allied Associates in Ob-gyn. They practice out of St. Johns and also have a location in O'Fallon at Progress West. My primary there is Dr. Shores, and I love her! I had a high risk pregnancy and I worked with their office and another office for high risk pregnancies (also located in St. Johns).
My OB is Dr. Becky Shelton. She delivers only at St. Johns. Her office is located off of Des Peres Rd (close to the movie theatre). My pregnancy hasnt been high risk but I have had a great experience with her. The whole staff has been phenomenal.I switched to her at 16 weeks (im now about 33 weeks) because I didnt like my previous doc and they were so accommodating! She has a nurse practioner that I also see and they both make you feel like you are their only patient and have all the time in the world to talk to you. I also work with two other women she delivered. They both loved her and referred her to me.
Good luck with your decision, congrats on the pregnancy!
I've seen Dr Rempe since I was 16 and love her.
You should deliver at St. John's over St. Luke's if you have the choice and especially with your conditions. St. John's has an excellent NICU (praying you won't need it) whereas St. Luke's doesn't. You should chose a doc that is with St. John's.
If you are looking for a female OBGYN, I like Dr. Beth Gearhart
She makes you feel comfortable and may help you with your delicate situation! Best of luck!
