vacuum recs

I am looking for a new vacuum and willing to pay a little more for quality. ?Our down stairs is hardwood and tile and the upstairs is carpet. ?We don't have pets but my hair sheds everywhere. ?So much that it clogs the cheap machine we have now. ?Any ideas? ?I know people love their Dysons but I have heard mixed reviews about Dysons on hardwood. ?TIA

Hi! Welcome to the Nest. I'm new too.

My DH and I got a Hoover? WindTunnel? Cyclonic Upright Vacuum as a wedding gift last year and I love it. It comes with a HEPA filter so you never have to buy replacement bags. I think our filter is washable too. Our apartment is mostly carpet and the kitchen and bathroom are tile so I'm not sure how it is on hardwood, but it works great on our tile. Very easy to manuever and light weight, too. It costs about $300 but you never have to buy replacement bags.

I am in love with my Dyson, and we have cherry hardwood....

A site I like to use to research stuff like this is www.consumersearch.com.  I find it really helpful in understanding what features, etc. to look for.  It's sort of like a Consumer Reports and gathers opinions across multiple sources (including CR, actually).

We have a Bissell that is designed specifically for pet hair.  It works great three years after I bought it from Target.  My husky sheds like crazy and it picks up her hair wonderfully.  I even use it on the sofa.  The only difficulty is one of the attachments.  I have to clean out the dog hair after every use, but it's fairly easy.  We have carpet and engineered wood in our house.  The price was right and I honestly didn't expect it to last this long, but it's still going strong.  It is a bagless system, just have a chamber to clean out. GL!

We got the Dyson DC24 yesterday. So obviously we haven't used it too much yet, but so far we love it! We have hardwood through our whole house, except the kitchen and bathroom have tile, and one small room has carpet. We vacuumed the whole house already because we were so excited about it lol.

We bought ours a few years ago so the model we have is no longer available, but it is similar to the DC 17.

We have a Dyson DC25 (which is just a slightly larger version of the 24 that jcam got.  We have a lot of hardwood floors and I have zero complaints.  I LOVE my dyson.
