H's family had its family gathering on Christmas Eve at MIL's house and I hosted Christmas Day for my family.

Tuesday or Wednesday, SIL asks what time she needs to be at our house for dinner. I was a little bit caught off guard and told her what I thought the arrangements were, but it's fine everyone is welcome. MIL starts asking what to bring, we tell her to bring dessert because everything was already arranged. Friday at MIL's house, SIL confirms dinner at my house the next day.

Friday morning MIL calls H, "Your sister says it's just for PMB's family." H says, "Whatever mom, we already told you it was okay." So she comes but, SIL's family is a no-show.

Saturday morning SIL calls H and says, "If you really wanted us to be there you should have called us."

H, "That's fine Sis, we told you last night you were welcome. bye. <click>"

My family was not invited to the Christmas Eve festivities which, was just fine by them. Mom is still irritated by SIL's insinuation that somewhere in our family history we came to this country illegally because that's what Mexicans do.

MIL is thrilled you're joining the family. Image and video hosting by TinyPic

  • I am always thrilled when someone tries to create drama and gets the "Ok, whateve, *click*" response.

    Gold stars!
