I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929

Okay, but what the hell are you supposed to do? She asked the sister not to say that to her DH. Sister keeps on, and then when she says stop again the sister attacks her. If someone is at my throat, how the hell do you get them to stop? Clearly asking nicely is out of the question.
Yes, the sister has done this before and OP should have known better. But what was the other option? Tattle to mom and dad or keep silent?

But let's be honest. When it comes to family, it's hard to stay away even if there are things like this. People make empty promises (I won't do that, I'll stop her if she does that) and when it's family you are a little more willing to push past it. I think that's been obvious on this board with some people. It's easy for all of us to say, well don't go over there, but the reality is that when it's family its a whole new game.
Sh!t, my grandma is certifiable and did some HORRIBLE stuff to her kids growing up, but it wasn't until they were older adults that they were finally able to cut ties with her.
1/2 the ladies on that board are idiots. How do you talk it out when you are being choked? Perhaps she should have tickled her? Or perhaps blinked morsecode "cant we get along?"
That sister needs to be punched in the throat and banned from her house.
she's probably been abused her whole life, and her parents never put a stop to it because they may think that "blood is thicker than water" BS.
mom used to get beat up all the time by my crazy aunt, and it was only after my grandmother passed away that mom finally cut ties with this person. and when i say beat up all the time, i mean almost every family gathering until the last holiday we all spent together as a family when i was in my 20's.
