Recommend your laptop

So our laptop bit the dust last week and we are looking for a new one.  We have seen a lot of deals pop up but I don't know the difference between the brands and I was jut wondering what everyone has and if they like it.

Mine was a Dell that I got back in 2001 and I liked it but I'd really just like to get th least expensive if it happens to be another brand.

Re: Recommend your laptop

  • I have an Acer that I got on sale at Walmart - love it! I think it's the Acer Aspire 4520 (I have no idea - that's what a sticker says on the computer!). I remember when we were looking that my husband was big on me getting a "Turion" processer rather than a "duel core" processor. I don't know what the difference is - as long as it works, I'm happy!Smile

  • Get an Apple! I absolutely love our Powerbook and I promise you won't be SORRY! :)
  • I second the Apple suggestion...when this PC finally kicks it, I'm getting a Macbook. I use an iMac at work and they are FANTASTIC.
  • Well, B and I have always had Dells and absolutely love them.  But if you aren't interested in Dells, I don't have any other suggestions.  Sorry.
  • My desktop and laptop are both HP's. I love them and have never had any issues.

A computer geek friend of mine once told me that they are all about the same, the brand is just a shell.

  • The important things about your computer are the processor and how much hard drive space you have; those will determine how fast it will go. The pp was right in saying that the outside is basically just a shell (with the exception of Macs).

I just got a Dell laptop for work that has the Intel Core 2 Duo processor and tons of memory, I love it :) Good luck in your decision.
