Awwwww! I thought the horrid in-law visits of Christmas were over. Apparently not. SIL and her daughter are coming over at an undetermined time of day for an undetermined period of time tomorrow. ![]()
This is the SIL who I've never gotten along with, and her spoiled 2.5 year old that SIL lets do whatever she wants (including running around our highly non-childsafe house unsupervised). Even more annoying, SIL constantly talks about what an animal lover her kid is, and yet when they were here last week, the daughter chased my two very sweet and gentle dogs (who had done nothing) around the yard with a stick, trying to whack them. But she's an animal lover, and all animals love her. Riiiiiiiiight.
If that damn kid tries hitting my dogs again tomorrow, all hell is going to break loose, I'm telling you.
Re: so close...and yet so far..
eek - good luck! I'm with Amy, I might have to put my foot down if a child was chasing my pets with a stick... but I also know how it is often easier just to try to keep the peace and not say anything...
Yikes! What a nightmare. Maybe you can pull the "I am exhausted with twins" routine and nap your way through their visit. LOL!

Ohhhh trust me ladies, that stick was removed from her little hands as soon as I could grab it and she was firmly informed that the only way she could "play" with the dogs was by petting them. Luckily she never actually got close enough to hit them, or I'd have gone apesh!t on everyone within a 5-mile radius.
SIL just rolled her eyes at me and said that her daughter wasn't hurting anything (so dogs don't count as "anything" now?), but thankfully she didn't let her run off to do it again. I don't have much faith that SIL won't let her do it again this time though...
Thank god they normally live half a continent away.
